Karadenizbirlik Starts New Season Sunflower Purchases

Karadeniz Oilseed Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union has commenced its 2026 sunflower procurement process, following a provision of 122 million liras in support to its 22,000 members.
Karadeniz Oilseed Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union (KARADENİZBİRLİK) has started sunflower purchases for the 2026 season. Prior to the purchases, the union provided a total of 122 million liras in credit support, both in-kind and cash, to its 22,000 producer members. Karadenizbirlik General Manager Ünal Erarslan, assuring the price policy, stated that the producer would be protected, saying:
"We will implement the best price that will not disadvantage the producer within the framework of market conditions."
Erarslan emphasized that they expect a high yield thanks to favorable climate conditions and the absence of drought, and stated that purchases are continuing in 12 centers in Samsun, Çorum, Amasya, Tokat, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, and in the Eastern and Southeastern regions. KARADENİZBİRLİK aims to purchase approximately 35,000 tons of sunflower seeds in the current season.
