Russian Grain Harvest Surpasses 100 Million Tons

The ongoing harvest season in Russia has seen grain collection reach 100.5 million tons, a 12.5% increase compared to last year.
Harvest Threshold of 100 Million Tons Crossed
According to a statement from the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the ongoing grain harvest in the country has crossed a critical threshold. Harvesting has been completed on 27.9 million hectares, which represents over 65% of the land cultivated with grains and legumes. As of August 26, the collected produce amounted to 100.5 million tons, marking a 12.5% increase compared to the same period last year. Ministry officials announced that the current yield is sufficient to fully meet the domestic market's grain needs.
Yield Increase and Winter Sowing Season
The average product yield across the country has risen by 4.3% this year, reaching 3.6 tons per hectare. Officials attributed the yield increase to modern technologies, breeding methods, fertilizers, and digital farming solutions. Winter grain sowing has also accelerated in the country, with cultivated area increasing by 125,300 hectares year-on-year to 482,700 hectares. However, drone attacks targeting ports are complicating global export processes.
