Erzincan Provides 2.4 Million Lira Greenhouse Cover Support to Growers

Within the scope of a project to strengthen protected cultivation in Erzincan, 15,579 kilograms of greenhouse covers were distributed to 28 farmers with a 50% grant from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry.

Half-Price Support for Greenhouse Infrastructure

A new support program has been launched across Erzincan to revitalize protected agricultural production and strengthen the worn physical infrastructure of greenhouses. Within the scope of the 'Renewal of Covers for Protected Cultivation Facilities' project, supported by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a total of 15,579 kilograms of greenhouse covers were provided to 28 farmers. The total budget for this initiative is 2.4 million liras, with exactly half of the cost covered directly by state grants. The Ministry's financing of 1.2 million liras was matched by the producers' own capital contribution of the remaining 1.2 million liras.

Distribution Ceremony and Productivity Goals

A comprehensive distribution program was held in the city to deliver the renewed greenhouse plastics to the eligible farmers. The ceremony was attended by Erzincan Deputy Governor Hüseyin Aydın, Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Alper Koçaker, representatives of various political parties, and greenhouse farmers from the region. The primary goals of the project, overseen by officials, include modernizing production conditions, increasing the resistance of greenhouses to climate conditions, and achieving high yields. Thanks to the supported new covers, the cost burden on farmers is being lightened, and the vegetable supply in the region is planned to be secured.
