As part of projects to protect freshwater resources and aquatic ecosystems, 40,000 juvenile carp were released into Sera Lake in the Akçaabat district of Trabzon.

Within the scope of aquaculture development projects carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 40,000 juvenile carp were released into Sera Lake, located in the Akçaabat district of Trabzon. The scaled carp juveniles, raised at the Amasya Yedikır Aquaculture Production and Research Station under the coordination of the General Directorate of Fisheries and Aquaculture, were introduced to the lake waters by the teams of the Provincial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry. This initiative aims to utilize freshwater resources more efficiently.

İsa Kaplan, the Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry in Trabzon, stated that the activity undertaken not only multiplies the fish population but also plays a critical role in protecting the aquatic ecosystem. Kaplan emphasized that freshwater fauna can be affected by environmental conditions over time and that monitoring mechanisms across the province are supported by stocking projects. The study aims to revitalize amateur fishing activities in the region and secure natural fish stocks.
