· GıdaTarım

According to AKOM data, Istanbul has received up to 107 kilograms of rainfall per square meter in the last 24 hours, with warnings issued for severe downpours in northern districts that could locally exceed 150 kilograms by Wednesday evening.
Heavy Downpour and Storm Warning
The Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Disaster Coordination Center (AKOM) announced that the ongoing rainfall across the city will intensify starting at 8:00 PM. According to AKOM data, rainfall ranging from 20 to 107 kilograms per square meter has been recorded in various parts of the city in the last 24 hours. Lightning, thunder, and storms are expected due to the encounter of dense moisture carried by the northwesterly wind from the Black Sea with a cold air mass. Adverse weather conditions are projected to continue intermittently until 8:00 PM on Wednesday.
Expected Rainfall Amount in Northern Districts
Meteorological forecasts estimate rainfall between 40 and 100 kilograms per square meter across the city due to the system's impact. Particularly in districts with significant agricultural and rural areas such as Çatalca, Arnavutköy, Eyüpsultan, Sarıyer, Beykoz, Çekmeköy, and Şile, rainfall is reported to reach 60 to 120 kilograms per square meter. It is estimated that this amount may exceed 150 kilograms per square meter in some local areas. This situation is stated to potentially cause floods in agricultural lands and riverbeds.
Field Teams on Standby
According to information shared by AKOM, a total of 2,117 reports have been received since the onset of the rainfall, including incidents of flooding, water accumulation, and road collapses. IMM teams, taking precautions against potential floods and risks, have been put on standby with 6,722 personnel in the field. 2,199 vehicles and construction equipment are kept ready for intervention at critical points. Producers and citizens are urged to be cautious against flash floods and water inundation.
