Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture Chairman Mehmet Akın Doğan stated that subsidized agricultural credit limits, which have not been increased for two years, have eroded due to inflation, calling for an urgent update and legislative change.
Demand for Inflation Update in Credit Limits
Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture Chairman Mehmet Akın Doğan stated that producers' access to finance is becoming increasingly difficult for the sustainability of agricultural production. Doğan emphasized that subsidized credit limits for land, vineyard, and garden purchases need to be urgently updated according to economic conditions, and that the limits, which have not been increased for about two years, have lost their real value against high inflation. Speaking about the support lagging behind the increase in land prices, Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture Chairman Mehmet Akın Doğan made the following statement:

Doğan, who wants the current credit limits to be renewed annually in line with inflation, noted that the lack of financing hinders new land investments.
Sales Restriction on Agricultural Lands Should Be Eased
Touching upon the ownership measures applied to financed agricultural lands, Yüreğir Chamber of Agriculture Chairman Mehmet Akın Doğan said that the current five-year sales ban should be re-evaluated under market conditions. Doğan stated that reducing the said sales restriction to three years would provide financial flexibility to producers and that this step would alleviate the stagnation in the agricultural land market. Emphasizing that long-term restrictions negatively affect investment decisions, Doğan conveyed that financing difficulties have locked the land market and that urgent legal regulations are needed.
Call for DFİF Support for Exporting Farmers
Doğan stressed the need to increase the competitiveness of agricultural product exporters in international markets and demanded that the Support and Price Stabilization Fund (DFİF) be effectively activated again. Highlighting that supporting export-oriented agricultural production will provide high added value to the national economy, Doğan underlined that financing opportunities, support mechanisms, and structural steps that increase global competition must be carried out simultaneously for a sustainable production model.
