75,000 Strawberry Seedlings Distributed with 70% Subsidy to Producers in Nilüfer

In collaboration with Nilüfer Municipality and NİLKOOP, 75,000 certified strawberry seedlings were distributed to farmers with a 70% subsidy, supporting rural female employment and alternative production.

75,000 Seedlings for Alternative Rural Income

Nilüfer Municipality has completed the distribution of certified strawberry seedlings as part of its efforts to diversify agricultural production in rural neighborhoods and increase producer income levels. Within the scope of the work carried out in cooperation with the Nilüfer Agricultural Development Cooperative, a total of 75,000 disease-free strawberry seedlings were delivered to producers with a 70% subsidy. The distribution program, held in İnegazi Neighborhood, aims to expand existing production in İnegazi and Atlas neighborhoods, and to initiate strawberry cultivation from scratch in Kuruçeşme Neighborhood. The project, which prioritizes the participation of female farmers in production, lays the groundwork for the local population to achieve sustainable income from their own lands.

Strawberry Production in the District Reaches 1,265 Tons

Drawing attention to the region's production capacity during the distribution program, Nilüfer Deputy Mayor Zerrin Güleş announced that according to TÜİK data, a total of 1,265 tons of strawberries are produced annually on 167 decares of land in the district. Stating that the majority of this yield is provided by producers in İnegazi, Atlas, and Kuruçeşme neighborhoods, Güleş expressed that the distributed high-quality and certified seedlings will elevate product standards. Officials emphasized that the seedling support will not be limited to distribution alone, and that agricultural engineers and technical personnel assigned by the municipality will provide direct consultancy to farmers in the field throughout the production period.

Cooperative Guarantee from Planting to Marketing

Within the project scope, technical training will be provided to producers on seedling planting and cultural care processes. İnegazi Neighborhood Headman Nurettin Aydın expressed his satisfaction with the delivery of seedlings according to the exact planting calendar, while NİLKOOP Chairman Resul Tarman stated that the cooperative will stand by the farmers in marketing the harvested products. Following yield and quality analyses at the end of the season, if successful results are achieved, the strawberry cultivation support model is planned to be expanded to other rural settlements across Nilüfer.
