New Regulation Explained to Aquaculture Producers in Giresun

Giresun Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry conveyed updated Aquaculture Regulation and sectoral supports to producers and technical personnel at a meeting.
A comprehensive information meeting was held on September 17, 2026, under the coordination of the Fisheries and Aquaculture Branch Directorate of the Giresun Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. At the meeting, the details of the Regulation Amending the Aquaculture Regulation, published and entered into force in the Official Gazette dated June 4, 2026, and numbered 33270, were discussed in detail. With the amendment, break periods in production, project and aquaculture certificate procedures, and capacity applications in aquaculture have been redefined. Giresun Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry, Mustafa Ensar Yılmaz, who chaired the meeting, made an assessment regarding the sector's development:
In sessions attended by technical personnel and business officials, mandatory procedures and principles to be followed in aquaculture activities were shared. Within the scope of the program, the correct use of fishing shelters, methods for combating fish diseases, current aquaculture supports, and the corporate structure of producer unions were detailed. Experts working in provincial and district directorates answered questions from facility officials regarding regulatory practices after the presentations. The information activity carried out is aimed at increasing aquaculture production standards and registered aquaculture efficiency across the city.
