Anadolu Etap and Munckhof Forge Strategic Partnership in Fruit Growing

Turkey's leading fresh fruit producer Anadolu Etap partners with Dutch technology firm Munckhof, signing a distribution agreement to introduce advanced harvesting platforms to local growers.

Strategic Technology Partnership in Fruit Growing Commences

Anadolu Etap, Turkey's largest fresh fruit producer, has signed a strategic cooperation agreement with Dutch agricultural technology manufacturer Munckhof to accelerate technological transformation in agricultural production. Under the agreement, Anadolu Etap will serve as Munckhof's distributor in Turkey, aiming to share its mechanization expertise gained in modern orchards with local producers. According to information provided by the company, advanced harvesting platforms will be introduced to the market in the first phase, with other agricultural technologies to be added to the product range later.

Munckhof Offers Innovative Agricultural Technologies

Founded in the Netherlands in 1884, Munckhof Fruit Tech Innovators boasts over 140 years of experience in agricultural technology, providing solutions to modern fruit growers worldwide. The company offers a wide range of products, from fruit harvesting platforms and agricultural spraying systems to precision crate-filling mechanisms, all designed to accelerate agricultural operations. Munckhof aims to maximize mechanization and operational efficiency for various fruit types, including apples, pears, cherries, grapes, and olives.

Harvesting Platforms Elevate Efficiency to the Peak

The mobile harvesting platforms entering the Turkish market through this collaboration significantly shorten fruit picking times, accelerating business processes. These systems provide operational ease by allowing workers in apple, pear, peach, nectarine, plum, citrus, and cherry orchards to safely and easily access fruits at different heights. The controlled transfer of harvested fruits to crates via conveyor belts prevents impact and mechanical quality losses during harvest, while shaker models developed for industrial fruits and olives facilitate harvesting.

Mechanization Prevents Labor Shortages

Investments in agricultural mechanization help balance the increasing need for labor and enable the much more efficient use of existing workforce in the field. Handan Eren, General Manager of Anadolu Etap Tarım, explained the sectoral importance of the collaboration with the following words:

'At Anadolu Etap, we address productivity, quality, and sustainability together in agricultural production. We see technology as a crucial part of this approach. For years, we have implemented various mechanization and optimization projects on our own farms, tested new technologies in the field, and continuously improved our production processes. With harvesting platforms, we offer world-class efficiency and contribute to the production of quality, sustainable, and safe food from farm to table. We view the Munckhof collaboration as a natural extension of this accumulated knowledge. Through this partnership, we are bringing the knowledge and experience gained in the field to fruit producers in Turkey. We aim to contribute to the technological transformation and competitive strength of Turkish agriculture by expanding this collaboration, which begins with Munckhof's harvesting platforms, with different mechanization solutions in the coming period.'

Anadolu Etap Expands Its Production Infrastructure

Operating under the joint venture of Anadolu Group and Özgörkey Holding, Anadolu Etap holds a leading position with its 4 farms spread over 21,000 decares and more than 3.5 million fruit trees. The company meets the demand for both high-quality fresh fruit and fruit juice concentrate with its 3 fruit processing factories. Exporting to American, European, and Japanese markets, the company directly tests technological innovations on-site with its 2 R&D centers located at the Mersin Factory and Balıkesir Tahirova Farm.

Sustainable Agriculture Goal with Innovative Practices

Anadolu Etap, committed to protecting natural resources in its production processes, continues its investments in line with its Sustainable Agriculture Principles, established in 2014 as a first in Turkey. Digitalization and automation applications integrated into its business processes elevate fruit harvest efficiency to global standards. The low-emission fuel technology used in the harvesting platforms reduces the carbon footprint, directly contributing to the company's environmental sustainability goals while ensuring fruits reach the table in their freshest state without loss from the branch.

Expanding Portfolio Transforms the Fruit Sector

The distribution agreement between Anadolu Etap and Munckhof is not limited to current harvesting platforms but will be expanded in the future to include various mechanization solutions. This step, which will facilitate access to modern technologies for fruit growers across Turkey, promises to enhance the competitiveness of local producers in international markets. The widespread adoption of advanced mechanization tools in the field marks a critical stage in optimizing labor costs and standardizing harvest quality in fruit growing.
