186.5 Million Lira Fine Imposed on Non-Compliant Businesses in Food Inspections

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry imposed a total of 186.5 million Turkish Lira in fines on businesses that failed to comply with regulations during over 100,000 food inspections conducted in August.

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry conducted a total of 100,128 inspections targeting food businesses nationwide between August 1st and 31st. As a result of these controls, administrative fines totaling 186.5 million Turkish Lira were imposed on businesses found to be operating in violation of regulations.

Evaluating the inspection results, the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry, İbrahim Yumaklı, emphasized that food safety will not be compromised, stating:

"While 186.5 million Turkish Lira in fines were imposed on businesses where non-compliance was detected, we filed criminal complaints against 49 businesses. While protecting the rights of our honest tradespeople who do their jobs properly, our fight against those who adulterate our citizens' food will continue with determination."
