Fig Harvest Season Begins in Kozan, Adana

In Kozan district of Adana, the harvest of figs used for winter pestil and dried fig production has commenced, driven by high demand despite a decrease in yield.

The fig harvest season for figs used in winter pestil and dried fig production has begun in the Kuytucak neighborhood of Kozan district, Adana. Farmers, who produce on approximately 5 acres of land, are harvesting the ripe products, boxing them, and shipping them to the city center. The harvesting process is expected to last for about 15 days.

Producer Faruk Yiğenoğlu stated that there was a loss in yield this season due to fruit drop in June. He added that despite the decrease in production, market demand for the product remains quite high due to winter preparations.
