Through the EU and UNDP-supported INSURE Project, agricultural and livestock businesses will receive in-kind input support of up to 3,000 Euros for employing trainees who participate in the training.
INSURE Project Training and Allowance
The INSURE Project, carried out with European Union funding and United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) technical support, met with producers in the Akşehir district of Konya. Within the scope of the program, conducted in partnership with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Turkish Red Crescent, uninsured individuals between the ages of 18-55 will receive 5 days of vocational training. Trainees participating in the training process will be paid a daily allowance of 920 TL. At the information meeting attended by Akşehir District Director of Agriculture and Forestry Halil İbrahim Önder and Akşehir İŞKUR Director Türkan Çiğdem Pınar, it was announced that theoretical and practical lessons would be organized according to the businesses' workflows.
Three Thousand Euros Support for Businesses
Direct incentives will be provided to agricultural and livestock businesses that employ individuals trained within the program. Businesses employing trainees will receive in-kind support of 1000 Euros per person, for a maximum of three people, totaling 3000 Euros. This contribution will not be in cash; instead, it will be delivered in the form of seeds, feed, water troughs, and agricultural machinery equipment. Businesses wishing to benefit from the support must fulfill the condition of employing the individuals they hire for at least 3 months with insurance.
Scope and Implementation in Seven Provinces
The project, with a total budget of 13.4 million Euros and covering the 2025-2027 period, is being implemented across a wide area. Alongside Konya, activities are being carried out simultaneously in the provinces of Adana, Bursa, Hatay, Mardin, Mersin, and Şanlıurfa. Producers can apply for this initiative, which aims to increase qualified labor and registered employment in rural areas, through Konya Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry Project Coordinator Ülkü Günhan and Red Crescent Project Coordinator Meltem Ünal.
