In Çaycuma district of Zonguldak, 200,000 lettuce seedlings and 120 milking machines were distributed to producers, targeting a contribution of 6 million liras to the local economy.

Record Target for Lettuce Production in Çaycuma

A comprehensive support initiative has been implemented in the Çaycuma district of Zonguldak to increase plant production and bring idle agricultural lands back into the economy. Within the framework of the TAKE Project, carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 200,000 lettuce seedlings were delivered to farmers in the region. According to statements by Zonguldak Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Nihat Ağan, the seedlings will be planted on approximately 110 decares of agricultural land. This planned production is aimed at contributing directly to the Çaycuma district economy with revenue exceeding 6 million TL.

Modern Milking Support for Milk Hygiene

In addition to plant production, a significant equipment delivery was made under the 'Modern Milking, Strong Producer Project' to develop livestock activities in the region. 120 modern milking machines were distributed to local cattle breeders. Zonguldak Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Nihat Ağan stated that the aim is to significantly raise hygiene and quality standards in raw milk production with the newly procured milking machines. The project will directly support productivity increases by modernizing milking processes in small-scale family farms.

New Service Building to Guide Producers

The aforementioned support was delivered to producers within the scope of a promotion program held at the new service building of the Çaycuma District Agriculture and Forestry Directorate. The program was attended by Çaycuma District Governor Adem Kaya, Zonguldak Deputy Ahmet Çolakoğlu, Provincial Director Nihat Ağan, and producers. Emphasizing that the new service building, equipped with modern infrastructure, will guide farmers in their field work, Provincial Director Ağan expressed his hope that the provided machine and seedling supports will bring a fruitful production period to the region's agriculture.
