Two Ministries Convene on Grain Supply Chain

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the Ministry of Trade met with grain sector representatives to assess post-harvest market balances and supply chain stability.
Supply and Yield Situation in the Grain Sector
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat held a consultation meeting with grain sector representatives at the Turkish Grain Board (TMO). During the assessments made at the meeting, it was stated that the harvest season is nearing its end and there are no supply-related issues for strategic agricultural products. Minister Yumaklı stated that efforts are ongoing to ensure the sustainability of agricultural production and the security of food supply, while Minister of Trade Bolat noted that stable rainfall and implemented policies have positively contributed to increased production.
Market Regulation Steps by TMO and Ministries
Within the scope of the meeting, TMO Chairman of the Board and General Manager Ahmet Güldal made a detailed presentation on the product procurement activities carried out during the 2026 harvest season, field operations across the country, and market regulation efforts. Ersin Dilber, General Manager of Food Control, presented the implemented inspection mechanisms. Representatives from the National Grain Council, TUSAF Flour Industrialists Federation, and Grain Products Exporters' Associations also presented their demands and suggestions regarding domestic and global markets.
Collaborative Approach and Stability in the Supply Chain
Following the meeting, Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı and Minister of Trade Ömer Bolat made a joint statement:
"We are acting with an understanding that protects the hard work of our producers, supports the production power of our industrialists, and ensures that our citizens have reliable and stable access to food. We will continue to work with high coordination and a collaborative approach with our Ministry of Trade and sector stakeholders to maintain market balances at every stage of the supply chain, from wheat to flour, and from flour to bread."
The statement highlighted the emphasis on balance across all links of the chain.
