102 Hazelnut Producers in Düzce Receive Modern Pruning Equipment

As part of a 2 million lira project aimed at increasing yield and quality in hazelnut cultivation in Düzce and Akçakoca, 102 producers were provided with pruning equipment at 50% subsidy.
A comprehensive equipment distribution program has been implemented in Düzce Center and Akçakoca districts to enhance the quality and yield of hazelnut farming. Within the scope of a project with a total budget of 2 million TL, coordinated by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, 102 hazelnut producers were supplied with chainsaws, pruning shears, and hand saws. The modern maintenance equipment, financed on the basis of a 50% ministry subsidy and 50% farmer contribution, was delivered to the producers in a ceremony, followed by training on their correct usage in the field.
The implemented support aims to promote rejuvenation pruning in orchards, remove old and unproductive branches, and accelerate the cleaning of basal shoots. Akçakoca District Governor Dr. Hacı Arslan Uzan and Düzce Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Esra Uzun noted that the equipment will offer significant time and labor savings for producers. Officials emphasized that timely maintenance will directly contribute to product quality and farmer income, ensuring Düzce maintains its strength in the hazelnut sector.
