KARADENİZBİRLİK Starts Sunflower Purchases for New Season

KARADENİZBİRLİK has commenced its new season sunflower purchases, providing 122 million Turkish Lira in support to its producer members and announcing a target of acquiring 35,000 tons of product.

Purchase Season and Producer Support

The Black Sea Oilseed Agricultural Sales Cooperatives Union has officially launched its new season sunflower purchasing process. KARADENİZBİRLİK General Manager Ünal Erarslan announced that oil production will accelerate during the harvest period and capacity will be increased based on demand. Stating that the institution continues its support to producers, KARADENİZBİRLİK General Manager Ünal Erarslan explained the purchasing strategy:

"Within this scope, we have provided 122 million Turkish Lira in in-kind and cash support to our producer members prior to the 2026 product purchases. Within the framework of market conditions, we will apply the best price for sunflower purchases that will not disadvantage the producer. We expect a high product yield in the new season. The climate conditions have been much better this season compared to last year. We did not experience last year's drought. Therefore, we believe the yield will be high."

Yield Expectations and Purchase Targets

Activities within the union continue uninterruptedly at 12 cooperatives and purchasing centers in Samsun, Çorum, Amasya, Tokat, Kırıkkale, Kırşehir, and the Eastern and Southeastern Anatolia regions. Touching upon the season's targets and market regulation, KARADENİZBİRLİK General Manager Ünal Erarslan made the following remarks in his assessment:

"We aim to purchase approximately 35,000 tons of product this season. KARADENİZBİRLİK continues to contribute to the country's economy. Our union serves the consumer with its 100% pure and halal certified KARADENİZBİRLİK branded sunflower oil, produced from the raw material it receives from producers, and by regulating the market in this regard, it prevents excessive price increases and contributes to the regional and national economy. We are also continuing our efforts to ensure that the producer segment can continuously achieve sufficient income and to ensure the continuity of production."
