Farmers Received 106 Billion Lira in Support in the First Half of the Year

According to data from the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, a total of 106 billion 22 million lira in agricultural support payments were made to 2.9 million producers in the first 6 months of 2026.

Record Agricultural Support in the First Half

According to information compiled from the Ministry's statistics bulletin, financial contributions to producers continue without slowing down to strengthen agricultural production. A significant portion of the 167.6 billion lira agricultural support budget set for the entire year was transferred to producers' accounts in the first half. In this context, a total of 106 billion 22 million lira in support payments were made to 2.9 million farmers in the first 6 months of 2026. The payments made were decisive in helping producers cover their input costs and continue their planting activities.

Details of Sectoral Support Distribution

Approximately 84 billion 397 million lira was allocated to crop production, constituting 79.6% of the support provided in the first 6 months, with basic support payments amounting to 44 billion 583 million lira in this category. While 19 billion 216 million lira was provided for animal production, covering 18.1% of the total payments, calf support for cattle farming reached 7 billion 963 million lira. 1 billion 770 million lira was provided for rural development with a 1.7% share, 354 million lira for agricultural R&D with a 0.3% share, and 285 million lira for aquaculture.

Key Items in the Second Quarter

In the second quarter of the year, covering April-June, 32 billion 392 million lira was paid for planned production in crop production, 17 billion 286 million lira for basic support, and 2 billion 595 million lira for tea pruning compensation. During the same period, small ruminant farming received 6 billion 330 million lira, and small-scale fisheries received 145 million lira in support. Additionally, 629 million lira was allocated to rural development investments, 118 million lira to agricultural extension and consultancy, and 39 million lira to animal genetic resources.
