The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has doubled the support amounts for offspring losses in pregnant animals in livestock farming, and has also included losses due to infectious diseases within the scope of support.

A significant increase has been made in the support programs carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry for the livestock sector. According to information shared by the Kırklareli Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, the support amounts provided for losses in pregnant animals have been increased by 100 percent. According to the Ministry's statement, in the new period, a support payment of 20,000 TL will be made per calf and buffalo calf in cattle farming. In small ruminant farming, the amount to be paid per lamb and kid has been set at 4,000 TL. With this increase, it is aimed to compensate for the economic losses faced by producers.

The new regulation not only increased the support amounts but also significantly expanded the scope of the application. In previous practices, only offspring losses occurring due to programmed vaccinations carried out by the Ministry were included in the support framework. With the new legislation, all offspring losses due to infectious diseases and other causes have been officially included in the scope. With this move, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry aims to protect the labor of producers, strengthen the sustainability of livestock activities, and ensure herd health.
