Adana Commodity Exchange Unveils Five-Year Agricultural Strategy

Adana Commodity Exchange (ATB) has launched its new strategic roadmap for 2026-2030, focusing on digitalization, R&D, and export-driven growth in the agricultural and food sectors.

ATB Launches New Strategic Period

Adana Commodity Exchange (ATB) has announced its new work priorities for the 2026-2030 period. During the ATB Ordinary Assembly Meeting in September, chaired by Assembly President Osman Bağış, past period activities were comprehensively evaluated. Speaking at the meeting, Chairman of the Board Şahin Bilgiç stated that they aim to increase the global competitiveness of the agriculture and food sectors. Bilgiç emphasized that digitalization, sustainability, R&D, and internationalization will be prioritized in the new working period.

Agricultural Production and Risk Management

Şahin Bilgiç highlighted that solving the problems faced by producers is their primary objective and that comprehensive steps are being taken against risks in the field. In this regard, it was noted that efforts to promote domestic seeds, combat frost, and control the Mediterranean fruit fly will continue uninterrupted. Furthermore, projects related to water management, licensed warehousing, grain markets, and the future of the citrus sector will be developed. The institution will also take an active role in investments in Organized Agricultural Regions and Specialized Organized Industrial Zones for Food.

Roadmap in Five Main Headings

ATB Chairman of the Board Şahin Bilgiç shared with the public that the 2026-2030 strategies will be carried out along five fundamental axes. The new period highlights a strong exchange structure, digital transformation, a competitive agriculture-food ecosystem, green transformation, and foreign trade objectives. Planned steps include a Digital Transformation Workshop, an Agriculture-Food Innovation Workshop, and an Export Working Group. E-export and geographical indication product studies will gain momentum with the Borsa Academy Platform.

Qualified Workforce and Exports

Reminding that qualified human resources are decisive for the future of the sector, Bilgiç stated that they will expand collaborations with TOBB, MEB, and YÖK. Bilgiç noted that scholarships, internships, and field training for young people will be increased, emphasizing the importance of collective intelligence.

Adana Commodity Exchange Chairman of the Board Şahin Bilgiç made the following statements regarding the issue:

'Our fundamental aim as Adana Commodity Exchange is to protect and develop the economic interests of our members and producers, to contribute to the sustainable growth of our agriculture and food sectors, and to transform Adana's agricultural potential into higher added value. In the coming period, we will continue to work in cooperation and with collective intelligence with our public institutions, universities, professional organizations, non-governmental organizations, and all our stakeholders.'
