The updated list of counterfeit and adulterated products by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry includes a total of 56 new items, 11 of which pose a risk to human health.
New Products Added to the List
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has updated its list of counterfeit and adulterated foods as a result of food safety inspections. According to official data published by the ministry on guvenilirgida.tarimorman.gov.tr, a total of 56 new products have been added to the list, with 11 falling into the category that poses a risk to health. Irregularities were identified in Abalı brand strained flower honey, produced in Ankara and widely sold in markets and e-commerce platforms. Furthermore, it was determined that cheap seed oils were mixed into products marketed as genuine extra virgin olive oil.
Adulteration in Meat and Dairy Products
The ministry's inspections also extensively covered non-compliance in animal products. Red meat inspections revealed the use of undeclared offal, kidney, heart, and poultry meat in ground beef, sucuk, lahmacun, and pide fillings. A significant portion of the updated list consisted of dairy products such as cheese, yogurt, and butter. The official records show the use of vegetable oil, low fat content, and melting salts in Kashar and white cheese sold as full-fat.
