Expert Report Finds Uşak GES Project Unsuitable

In a lawsuit filed against the planned solar power plant project in Uşak's Bağbaşı Village, an expert committee has opined that the investment is unsuitable from agricultural and environmental perspectives.
Expert Warns on Agriculture and Environment
A critical judicial phase has been reached in the Karacahisar Solar Energy Plant and Electricity Storage Facility project planned within the borders of Bağbaşı Village in Uşak's Merkez district. The Uşak Administrative Court appointed an expert committee in the lawsuit filed by the Bağbaşı Village Headman requesting the cancellation of the EIA Positive decision issued by the Uşak Governorship. The official report prepared highlighted deficiencies in the project introduction file and concluded that the investment is unsuitable from agricultural, flora-fauna, and geology-hydrogeology perspectives.
Location and Size of the Plant Project
According to the expert report, Potens Enerji Limited Şirketi plans to install 24,960 photovoltaic panels over an area of approximately 15.32 hectares. The facility site is located 1.1 kilometers from the center of Bağbaşı Village and 670 meters from the nearest residential area. Furthermore, the report listed the site's proximity of only 1.58 kilometers to the Uşak Altıntaş Dam, a source of agricultural irrigation, among critical environmental risks.
