The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has advanced the bonito and torik fishing season by 15 days for coastal fishermen, commencing on August 15.
Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı announced that the bonito and torik fishing season has been brought forward by 15 days for small-scale fishermen using drift nets. With the new regulation, the fishing period for coastal fishermen officially began on August 15.
Minister Yumaklı stated on his social media account that this step, long awaited by coastal fishermen, has been implemented. With this announcement, producers who make a living with drift nets have started fishing for bonito and torik according to the newly set calendar.
