Record Sunflower Harvest Surge
According to official data released by the Russian Ministry of Agriculture, the total oilseed harvest for 2026 reached 35.4 million tons. Harvest operations have been completed on approximately 93% of the country's cultivated land, with total production showing a significant increase compared to the same period last year. Sunflower harvest, which accounted for the largest share of this rise, increased by 27.9% compared to the previous period, exceeding the 19 million ton mark. Orenburg, one of the country's sunflower production centers, ranked first with a harvest of 2 million tons. It was followed by Saratov with 1.85 million tons and Rostov with 1.65 million tons.

Regional Distribution of Rapeseed Production
Within the oilseed group, rapeseed yield also rose by 17.3% compared to the same period last year, reaching a total of 6.8 million tons. According to the Russian Ministry of Agriculture data, Altai Krai stood out in rapeseed harvest, taking the lead with a production volume of 500.6 thousand tons. Oryol Oblast, ranking second, yielded 487 thousand tons of rapeseed, while Krasnoyarsk Krai harvested 466.3 thousand tons.
