The 'Birlikten Bereket' project, launched in collaboration with FAO, the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, and the Japanese Government, will provide direct equipment, market, and financing support to four women's cooperatives in Malatya and Tekirdağ.
International Production Support for Women's Cooperatives
The official launch workshop for the 'Birlikten Bereket' project, implemented in partnership with the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, was held in Ankara. This international initiative, financed by the Japanese Government, will continue uninterrupted until March 2027. Within the scope of the work to be carried out, a total of four women's cooperatives, three in Malatya and one in Tekirdağ, will be directly supported. The project plans to strengthen women's labor in agricultural production, disseminate efficient farming methods in the field, and ensure the long-term economic sustainability of local cooperatives.

Agricultural Frost Crisis in Malatya and Drought Crisis in Tekirdağ
The regions where this project will be implemented are directly battling the severe consequences of the climate crisis. In Malatya, which is trying to recover after the 2023 earthquakes, the severe agricultural frost disaster in 2025 deeply shook production. According to FAO data, the frost disaster completely destroyed up to 95% of the province's apricot yield. This massive loss in the production chain affected all segments, from farmers to traders. In Tekirdağ, meanwhile, severe drought and water scarcity are pressuring agricultural producers, while migration movements in the region further increase the burden on livelihoods.

Modern Equipment and Direct Market Access
To protect small producers against climatic pressures, training and mentorship programs tailored to the needs of the cooperatives will be designed. Women working within the cooperatives will be provided with modern agricultural machinery and processing equipment. Direct commercial links will be established with supermarkets, large buyers, and institutional food companies to add value to the agricultural food products produced. Thus, not only the production capacity but also the marketing power and income-generating capabilities of the cooperatives will be permanently enhanced.
