176.7 Million Lira Grant Support for Ordu's Rural Areas

Within the scope of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry's Rural Development Investment Program, a total of 176.7 million TL in direct grants will be provided to 223 projects in Ordu.

The application evaluation process for projects in Ordu, within the scope of the Rural Development Investment Program carried out by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, has been completed. As a result of the Ministry's examinations, 223 out of 230 eligible applications qualified for grant support. With the implementation of the approved projects, a total of 291.9 million TL in agricultural investment will be realized across Ordu. For these investments, producers will be provided with 176.7 million TL in direct grant payments. The program aims to strengthen rural infrastructure and modernize small-scale family businesses.

Modern harvesting systems for hazelnut producers came to the forefront within the investment program. According to the announced data, a total of 162 producers in the city will have the opportunity to benefit from hazelnut harvest net support. The net system aims to significantly reduce hazelnut harvesting costs and mitigate the risk of aflatoxin. While harvesting the ripe product from the branch using the shaking method increases efficiency, it also prevents damage to sapling shoots. This technology, integrated with smart farming applications, will increase productivity in the region.

The support program covers livestock and alternative agricultural sectors in addition to hazelnuts. Within the project scope, 42 producers received support for beekeeping, 10 producers for cattle farming, and 5 producers for hazelnut processing investments. In steps aimed at family businesses, 2 producers received support for kiwi trellising systems, 1 business for mushroom cultivation, and 1 facility for meat cutting. Beneficiaries must sign grant agreements with the Ordu Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry within the specified period.
