Record Increase in Small Ruminant Livestock Support

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has raised premiums provided to producers by implementing a record increase in shepherd employment and offspring support amounts for small ruminant livestock.

Increase in Shepherd and Basic Support

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has increased grant amounts for producers to ensure the sustainability of small ruminant livestock. According to the Ministry's statement, shepherd employment support, previously 81,100 TL, has been raised to 116,100 TL. Within the scope of the regulation aimed at alleviating the financial burden on producers, the basic support amount provided for lambs and kids has been increased from 300 TL to 430 TL per animal.

Additional Premium for Family Businesses

The Ministry announced that an additional 860 TL per animal will be paid for female lambs and kids born in family businesses, which form the backbone of rural areas. Furthermore, an extra payment of 215 TL per animal will be provided for offspring born at the nomadic livestock control point. The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry made the following statement:

'We have achieved record increases in our support to grow our small ruminant livestock and protect our family businesses. We will continue to add prosperity to the hard work of our producers.'
