GMO Feed Import Permits Extended for 10 Years

With a decision published in the Official Gazette by the Biosafety Board, the import permit periods for 3 genetically modified corn and 1 soybean varieties used for feed purposes have been extended for another 10 years.
According to a decision published in the Official Gazette by the Biosafety Board, the import permits for 3 genetically modified corn and 1 soybean varieties used for feed purposes have been extended for 10 years. With the decision taken, the validity period of MIR604, MON863, and T25 corn varieties, along with the MON87701 soybean variety, has been renewed.
The decision to extend the approvals, which were granted in 2015 and will expire on July 16, 2025, was accepted upon the official application of the White Meat Industrialists and Breeders Association Economic Enterprise (BESD-BİR).
