TİGEM Earns 27.5 Million Lira from Karacabey Foal Sale

At the auction held at Karacabey Agricultural Enterprise, 30 purebred Arabian foals were sold for a total of 27 million 550 thousand lira, with 'Bilge Çınar' fetching the highest bid at 3.6 million lira.

Record Sales Revenue at Karacabey Auction

Purebred Arabian foals raised at the Anadolu and Sultansuyu agricultural enterprises under the General Directorate of Agricultural Enterprises (TİGEM) found buyers at an auction in Karacabey. In the auction held at the Bursa Karacabey Agricultural Enterprise Directorate, 30 out of a total of 34 foals offered for sale were sold, generating a revenue of 27 million 550 thousand lira. According to TİGEM data, the foal sold at the highest price in the auction was 'Bilge Çınar' for 3 million 600 thousand lira. This was followed by 'Hançeroğlu' at 1 million 850 thousand lira and 'Duşbara' at 1 million 700 thousand lira.

Tradition and Modern Investments in Breeding

Speaking at the opening of the auction, TİGEM Deputy General Manager İsmail Bülbül highlighted the institution's deep-rooted history of 700 years and emphasized the development of facilities and animal welfare. TİGEM Deputy General Manager İsmail Bülbül stated in his speech:

"We renovated this facility one year, and the following year we introduced various innovations regarding the auction method. Last year, we also invested in the areas where our foals are housed, investing so they could go through this process in greater welfare. We preserve the qualities we have developed for 8 centuries, and beyond that, we strive to serve by keeping up with technological advancements and innovations brought by the era within our means."
