14 Industrial and Technological Projects Inaugurated in Afyonkarahisar

The Ministry of Industry and Technology has launched 14 development projects in Afyonkarahisar, including those for geothermal aquaculture and the food industry.

A Local Development Drive in Afyonkarahisar

A ceremony was held for the inauguration of the Afyonkarahisar Gastronomy Street and Industrial and Technological Projects by the Ministry of Industry and Technology. Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced the launch of 14 projects that will directly contribute to the city's development. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır made the following remarks at the ceremony:

"Under the leadership of our President; we have implemented a strong development approach that considers the needs of our nation, expands the opportunities of our cities, and advances our country's competitiveness. With an understanding that foresees not only today's needs but also the needs of the future; we have laid the foundations for a bigger, stronger, and more prosperous Turkey. We have positioned our country among the world's leading production and technology development bases. In the Century of Turkey, we are fairly distributing the accumulated knowledge, human resources, and production capacity of our cities; spreading production, employment, and exports to every corner of Anatolia."

Growth in Organized Industrial Zone Areas

Drawing attention to the city's agricultural, food, and industrial potential, Minister Kacır stated that the industrial infrastructure has grown significantly over the past 23 years. According to data from the Ministry of Industry and Technology, the number of organized industrial zones in the city has increased from 6 to 9. During the same period, the total area of OIZs has been expanded from 425 hectares to 2,624 hectares. Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır made the following statement on the matter:

"As the Ministry of Industry and Technology; we are resolutely implementing projects that will expand our city's production capacity, stimulate new investments, enhance the competitiveness of our businesses, and make Afyonkarahisar more prosperous. The works and services we have brought to Afyonkarahisar in the last 23 years are the most concrete indicators of the importance we attach to our city's development. In order to grow investment, employment, production, and exports in Afyonkarahisar; we have increased the number of OIZs in our city from 6 to 9 and the total area of OIZs from 425 hectares to 2,624 hectares in 23 years."

İscehisar Infrastructure Investments Completed

Addressing the development of industrial and mining activities in the region, Minister Kacır announced that the infrastructure works within the İscehisar Marble OIZ have been completed. Emphasizing that infrastructure services covering a total area of 256 hectares are now available to industrialists, Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır made the following assessment:

"With its rich marble reserves, deep-rooted production experience, and successful enterprises, our city is among the leading production and export centers of our country in the natural stone sector. İscehisar Marble OIZ is an important production base that enhances the sector's production capability, allows our firms to grow together, and enables Afyonkarahisar marble to reach world markets with higher added value. We are pleased to announce that we have completed the infrastructure works covering an area of 256 hectares in İscehisar Marble OIZ and made it available to our industrialists. With this investment, we are increasing the region's capacity to host new investments; paving the way for further growth in production, employment, and exports in our marble sector."

Incentives for Food and Aquatic Products

Minister of Industry and Technology Mehmet Fatih Kacır announced that KOSGEB has provided 2 billion Turkish Lira in financing to SMEs across Afyonkarahisar to date, and provided the following information regarding investment incentives and the Local Development Drive:

"With our investment incentive system, we have paved the way for 164 billion Turkish Lira in investments and over 28,000 employments to be realized in Afyonkarahisar. With our new incentive system, we cover half of the SGK employer share for employees to be hired in investments to be implemented in our Organized Industrial Zones in Afyonkarahisar, for 8 years, by our Ministry. We are providing financing support up to 30 million Turkish Lira for loans to be used in investments made in our city, offering a financing support of 9.25 points. We provide tax reductions with an investment contribution rate of up to 30 percent, depending on the nature of the investment. We grant VAT exemption and customs duty exemption on investment machinery. In the first call of the Local Development Drive Incentive Program, one of the main components of our new incentive system, we are supporting 2 investment projects worth 442 million Turkish Lira for geothermal resource-based aquaculture and the production of plant-based food supplements. Within the framework of the Local Development Drive program, whose support headings we updated in January 2026, we aim to make Afyonkarahisar a model region in terms of local development by evaluating the high potential our city possesses."

Support Provided to SMEs and Employment

Afyonkarahisar Deputy Governor İhsan Ayrancı and Afyonkarahisar Mayor Burcu Köksal also attended the inauguration ceremony and wished success for the projects in the city.
