Demand for a New Model in Agricultural Production
Anahtar Parti Deputy Chairman Hasan Hüseyin Demiröz called on the government, stating that farmers are experiencing serious price and marketing problems with many agricultural products, from wheat to corn, hazelnuts to grapes. Emphasizing that the state should take a more active role in production planning, Demiröz proposed a state-centric model that includes directly covering the input costs of producers and the state purchasing the harvested product. Hasan Hüseyin Demiröz, Deputy Chairman of Anahtar Parti, made the following statements regarding the issue:
"If the state provides the inputs and buys the harvest, all problems of the producer, industrialist, retailer, and consumer will be solved."
TMO and Price Pressure in Grains
Evaluating developments in the grain market, Hasan Hüseyin Demiröz criticized the purchasing policies of the Turkish Grain Board (TMO). Demiröz claimed that TMO makes a significant portion of its wheat purchases from traders rather than directly from farmers, arguing that this situation disadvantages producers. According to data shared by Demiröz, due to structural issues in the market and trader pressure, wheat farmers are receiving only around 12-13 TL per kilogram.
