Agriculture and Forestry Institutions in Bolu Convene for Joint Projects

Provincial directors of institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry met in Bolu to enhance agricultural production capacity, strengthen measures against forest fires, and plan grain purchases in the region.
Inter-Institutional Coordination Meeting in Bolu
Senior executives from institutions affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry convened on August 26, 2026, at a coordination meeting hosted by the DSİ 53rd Branch Directorate in Bolu. The meeting was attended by Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Zekeriya Ar, Bolu Regional Director of Forestry Celal Kanbur, Director of Nature Conservation and National Parks Metin Yetim, Director of West Black Sea Forestry Research Institute Mustafa Arslan, DSİ 53rd Branch Manager Doğan Güven Kabadayı, and Director of Food Control Laboratory Ahmet Caner. The outcomes of the coordination meeting held in Ankara under the chairmanship of the Minister of Agriculture and Forestry İbrahim Yumaklı were comprehensively evaluated at the summit.
Production Projects and Grain Purchases
Field studies and harvest processes aimed at increasing the province's agricultural production capacity were discussed at the meeting. Field Day events within the scope of the 'Chickpea Abundance Project by Women's Hands,' which aims to support female producers with the increasingly widespread organic raspberry harvest in the region, were addressed. Furthermore, grain purchase processes in the Dörtdivan district were detailed, and necessary planning was carried out to ensure farmers benefit from these purchases with the highest yield. Steps towards supporting producers and accelerating rural development were approved by the institutions.
Forest Fires and Food Inspections
Public health and the protection of natural resources constituted another main agenda item of the summit. The status of ongoing food inspections and biosecurity training across the province was reported, while measures to combat forest fires, which are critically important during the summer months, were reviewed. The preparedness levels of the institutions were discussed, and a decision for coordination against potential fire risks was made. The meeting concluded with the examination of the outcomes of the 'Friday Meetings,' which involve direct contact with citizens, and a decision for the organizations to continue working in coordination towards the set goals.
