Technical personnel from the Bayburt Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry are continuously conducting field checks to identify agricultural lands across the province that have not been cultivated for two years. The work, carried out within the framework of the Regulation on Leasing Uncultivated Agricultural Lands for Agricultural Purposes published by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, aims to bring fallow lands back into production. Field teams report the current status of the lands using geographical location data and physical inspections. The prepared reports are meticulously evaluated by provincial and district identification commissions, and parcels not sown for two growing seasons are recorded one by one.
Leasing to Local Farmers and Property Security
Agricultural lands confirmed to have been uncultivated for two consecutive years are listed for lease for agricultural purposes, primarily to local producers and farmers in the region. This step aims to prevent land from remaining idle and to strengthen regional agricultural output. While protecting property rights is the basis of these efforts, lease revenues are ensured to be transferred directly to the landowners. The Bayburt Provincial Directorate announces the public display lists transparently to prevent any disadvantage to landowners and states that field inspections will be completed within the schedule in all villages and towns.
