The study in question examined the effects of various commonly consumed sweetener substances, including aspartame, saccharin, acesulfame-K, erythritol, xylitol, and sorbitol, on cognitive functions. Suemoto, an epidemiologist who also coordinates one of Latin America's largest brain banks, indicated that a cautious approach should be taken regarding whether sugar alternatives should be completely abandoned.
