TÜRKŞEKER has completed the most comprehensive overhaul of its Burdur Sugar Factory in 30 years, preparing the facility for full-capacity beet processing in the 2026/2027 campaign season.

Extensive Overhaul at Burdur Sugar Factory

Turkish Sugar Factories Corporation (TÜRKŞEKER) has announced the completion of the most comprehensive overhaul and modernization process in the last 30 years at its Burdur Sugar Factory. According to the institution's statement, the technical works, assembly, and inspection processes, initiated in line with the planned schedule in June, were concluded without any disruptions. The facility has commenced sugar beet processing for the 2026/2027 campaign season.

Evaluating the investments made, TÜRKŞEKER Chairman of the Board and General Manager Dr. Muhiddin Şahin made the following statement:

'We have completed the most comprehensive overhaul of our Burdur Sugar Factory in the last 30 years. Our factory has started processing beets. With this investment, we have increased our production capacity in Burdur and provided a more efficient factory for our regional producers.'

Beet Processing Capacity Strengthened

It was reported that the factory's operational capacity and technical safety have been enhanced thanks to the renovation investments implemented with the support of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry. This modernization initiative aims to ensure the timely, lossless, and orderly processing of sugar beets delivered by agricultural producers in the region throughout the campaign season. TÜRKŞEKER's statement noted that the newly commissioned infrastructure will protect the labor of farmers in Burdur and its surrounding areas and will contribute sustainably to the region's sugar production capacity.
