Boron Reserves and Fertilizer Exports
According to data from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Turkey possesses 73% of the world's boron reserves and accounts for 48% of global production on its own. According to the Ministry's 2026 update, sales of 2.5 million tons of boron products in 2024 generated $1.322 billion in revenue. Turkey is transforming this wealth, which it possesses, beyond exporting it as raw material into value-added agricultural products. In this context, boron-based fertilizers developed in Turkey have already begun to be actively used in agricultural production in 9 countries.
Agriculture-Focused Global Investment Meeting
An international meeting was organized in Istanbul to popularize the use of boron in agricultural production and to create new investment models. Technical presentations were made at the event, attended by sector representatives, business people, and international investors from many countries. Within the scope of the program, the aim was to increase the market share of boron-containing agricultural products produced in Turkey in the global market. In the evaluations made, it was decided to attract direct investments to Turkey that will increase the added value of boron ore in the agricultural sector and to popularize productivity-enhancing applications.
