Pedigree Rams Distributed to Breeders in Kırşehir with 50% Subsidy

In Kırşehir, 100 breeders received pedigree rams with a 50% subsidy to boost productivity and genetic diversity in small ruminant farming, while 59 producers were supplied with 400 pieces of equipment.

50% Subsidy Support for Breeders in Kırşehir

A comprehensive support project for breeders was launched with a ceremony held in the garden of the Kırşehir Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry. Within the scope of the 'Genetic Improvement with Healthy Male Material in Small Ruminants' project, 100 pedigree rams were delivered to 100 breeders operating across the city with a 50% subsidy. In the same ceremony, a total of 400 feeders and waterers were distributed to 59 producers. Officials emphasized that such incentives will accelerate rural development and provide direct economic contributions to family businesses reliant on animal husbandry.

Livestock Potential and Operation Data of the City

Speaking at the distribution ceremony, Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek stated that the city is one of the most critical production centers in the region for agriculture and livestock. According to data shared by Governor Demiryürek, Kırşehir has approximately 360,000 registered small ruminants and 300,000 cattle. It was also noted that a total of 8,453 operations engaged in cattle and small ruminant farming are active in the area. The livestock sector holds a strategic position for the city's local economy and rural development.

Improvement Efforts and Sustainable Production Goals

Kırşehir Governor Murat Sefa Demiryürek, stating that they continue to stand by the producers, conveyed that their goal is not only to increase the animal population but also to enhance quality and productivity, making the following assessment:

'Our goal is not just to increase the number of animals, but to strengthen a more quality, productive, healthy, and sustainable livestock structure in Kırşehir. At this point, the quality of breeding material is of great importance. With the pedigree rams we will distribute today, we aim to strengthen the genetic structure of our producers, increase meat and milk yield, and enhance quality and efficiency levels. In 2026, 50 pedigree rams were provided to 50 producers. Today, we will distribute 100 pedigree rams to 100 producers.'

Pedigree Animals and Equipment Distributed via Lottery

Speaking at the ceremony, Kırşehir Member of Parliament Necmettin Erkan emphasized that the support provided to breeders will increase the small ruminant population, while Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Bülent Zafer Taş stated that they aim to raise the productivity bar in the province. Following the official speeches, the process moved to a lottery draw in the presence of a notary. As a result of the draw, 100 producers were determined and received pedigree rams with a 50% subsidy, while 59 producers were supplied with 400 feeders and waterers to strengthen modern livestock infrastructure, completing the distribution program.
