Growth and Solutions in Agricultural Production
Sector Tarım, operating for 25 years in plant nutrition, plant protection, and seeds for the sustainability and productivity of agricultural production in Turkey, is expanding its production network. Speaking at a press meeting held at the company's Aksaray factory, Sector Tarım Chairman and CEO Fuat Kunduracı highlighted the critical role of the domestic agricultural sector in overall economic performance, stating:
'According to Ministry of Trade data, the agricultural sector grew by 13.3% in the second quarter of the year, becoming one of the locomotives of economic growth. As Sector Tarım, we have been developing value-added professional solutions tailored to the diverse needs of farmers for 25 years by shaping our product diversity according to region, plant type, and production conditions.'
Konya and Aksaray Factory Capacities
The company conducts its agricultural input manufacturing at two main centers. Explaining the technical data of its production infrastructure and export targets, Sector Tarım Chairman and CEO Fuat Kunduracı shared the following information about the facilities:
'We carry out the production of plant nutrition products at our Konya facility and the production of plant protection products at our Aksaray facility. Our plant protection production facility, operating on a 26,000 square meter area within a 35,000 square meter land, with a production capacity of 45,000 tons/year, is the most modern facility in Turkey producing according to EU and US standards. Our plant nutrition facility in Konya, operating on a 20,000 square meter area with a production capacity of 50,000 tons/year of solid and 30,000 tons/year of liquid fertilizer, is one of the most modern facilities in its sector in Turkey, producing according to international standards. In these facilities, we continuously update our production technologies to produce and develop plant protection and nutrition products that meet international standards. Our medium-term goal is to increase our capacity to over 100,000 tons by increasing shifts at these facilities and focus on international markets. With our high-quality products, we aim to be present in 35 countries, primarily in Europe. Thus, while strengthening domestic production, we will increase our contribution to exports, enhancing our country's competitiveness.'
Safe Standards in Modern Facilities
It was stated that not only capacity increase but also regulatory compliance and storage capabilities are prioritized in production processes. Emphasizing chemical safety, Sector Tarım Chairman and CEO Fuat Kunduracı noted the following regarding standards:
'The plant protection products in our product portfolio are subject to regulations in areas such as environmental legislation, chemical safety, product labeling, storage, transportation, and disposal due to the active ingredients and auxiliary chemicals they contain.'
