TÜRKŞEKER Eskişehir Plant Kicks Off New Sugar Beet Season

TÜRKŞEKER's Kazım Taşkent Eskişehir Sugar Plant aims to process 900,000 tons of sugar beet and produce 120,000 tons of sugar during the 94th beet procurement campaign, which will last for 120 days.

The Kazım Taşkent Eskişehir Sugar Plant, operating under Türkiye Şeker Fabrikaları A.Ş. (TÜRKŞEKER), officially launched its 94th sugar beet procurement campaign for the 2026-2027 season with a ceremony held on September 18, 2026. The facility, which has been in operation since 1933, was attended by plant managers, representatives from agricultural chambers, transporters, and sugar beet grower cooperatives, along with producers. Following a sacrificial animal slaughter and prayers, the first sugar beet delivery to the plant was made.

According to the statement made by Plant Manager Mehmet Yüksel, the facility aims to process approximately 900,000 tons of sugar beet during the campaign period, which is planned to last for 120 days. Yüksel announced that approximately 120,000 tons of sugar, 260,000 tons of beet pulp, and 40,000 tons of molasses will be produced during this process. Kazım Taşkent Eskişehir Sugar Plant Manager Mehmet Yüksel stated that the facility will operate 24/7 in three shifts:

During the campaign period, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of the Turkish sugar industry, the factory's production capacity was also highlighted. According to factory data, the Eskişehir Sugar Plant, which had a daily processing capacity of 1,500 tons of beet upon its establishment in 1933, now boasts a daily processing capacity of 8,200 tons of sugar beet. The factory management announced that sugar beet procurement and analysis processes will be conducted transparently and regularly throughout the campaign.
