Fishermen in the Mediterranean, having completed their preparations following the general fishing ban that started on April 15, have finished maintenance, painting, and net repairs, and have launched their boats. Mediterranean producers, who started their fishing season later than other seas due to warm weather conditions, are counting down the days to say 'vira bismillah' (let's begin).
Expressing optimism for the new season after last year's adverse weather, Adana Karataş Fisheries Cooperative Chairman Celal Safsoylu and Mersin Fishermen's Association Chairman Adnan Polat stated that they expect abundance in the seas and that fish prices will remain at affordable levels for consumers in the first months of the season.
