New Coefficients and Criteria in Livestock
The Presidential Decree, implemented to increase productivity and encourage planned production in livestock, has been updated with new regulations published in the Official Gazette dated September 7, 2026. Under the new system, additional support coefficients have been introduced for value-added production steps. Calves and lambs born from embryo transfer and sexed semen applications, as well as heifer calves subjected to genomic testing for breeding, have been prioritized. Additionally, lambs and kids born at nomadic livestock control points and in disease-free herds, along with raw milk sold by certified collectors, will benefit from the additional coefficient.
Pasture Improvement and Domestic Vaccines
Pasture improvement activities are ongoing to secure the supply of quality roughage, which is a fundamental input for the livestock sector. Following pasture identification and boundary determination processes, projects to increase forage yield and structures to aid grazing are being constructed. On the other hand, a new vaccine production facility is being established within the Etlik Veterinary Control Center Research Institute Directorate in Ankara to protect animal health and reduce external dependency. This investment aims to significantly increase the production capacity of domestic veterinary vaccines.
