A Turkey Without Terrorism: A Model of Social Cohesion and the New Threshold of the…

A nation's greatest strength is not solely its military, economy, or technology. Its true power lies in the spirit of social unity, where people can come together in a shared vision for the future, feel the same emotions in times of sorrow and joy, and perceive their differences as a source of richness rather than division.

A nation's greatest strength is not solely its military, economy, or technology. Its true power lies in the spirit of social unity, where people can come together in a shared vision for the future, feel the same emotions in times of sorrow and joy, and perceive their differences as a source of richness rather than division.

Turkey has paid a heavy price in its long struggle against terrorism. We have lost many of our children as martyrs, and many homes have been devastated. Terrorism has not only caused loss of life but has also slowed economic development, damaged the sense of social security, and attempted to drain our nation's energy. However, despite all these challenges, Turkey has managed to stand firm thanks to the solidarity between the state and the nation.

Today, we stand at the threshold of a new era. The goal of a 'Turkey Without Terrorism' should not be seen merely as a security achievement. This goal is also an expression of a new understanding that will strengthen the social foundation of the 'Century of Turkey'. Because while the silencing of weapons is important, the unification of hearts and the rebuilding of trust are far greater gains.

Social cohesion is not about people who are alike living under the same roof. True cohesion is about differences converging around common values, where everyone feels like an equal and dignified member of this country. This is precisely the essence of nationhood.

One of the most critical issues we need to discuss today is the relationship between security and social trust. The state can provide security; however, the sense of trust within society can only be built through justice, equality, fairness, and a strong climate of brotherhood. When people in a country trust each other, believe in their institutions, and can look to the future with hope, the ground for terrorism to thrive is largely eliminated.

Turkey's thousand-year civilizational experience teaches us a significant truth. Unity in this geography has not been achieved by force; it has been formed around common values. From the Seljuks to the Ottomans, and from the Republic to the present day, the greatest strength that has sustained these lands is the will to preserve differences within a common civilizational understanding. Therefore, social cohesion is not only one of today's achievements but also one of our most powerful historical legacies.

For a Turkey without terrorism to be lasting, strong social policies must be developed alongside security policies. The education system should instill in young people not only knowledge but also a sense of belonging, a sense of responsibility, and a culture of living together. The family institution should be strengthened, employment opportunities that increase the hopes of young people should be expanded, and cultural and artistic activities should nourish our collective memory. Because social cohesion is built not only through laws but also through common values felt in every aspect of life.

In this process, non-governmental organizations, unions, universities, local governments, opinion leaders, and the media also have important roles to play. Social peace cannot rest solely on the shoulders of state institutions. Every institution, every family, and every individual is a part of this shared responsibility. When a culture of unity and solidarity becomes a natural part of daily life, social cohesion will also strengthen.

The 'Century of Turkey' vision is not just about achieving economic greatness. It is also about building a more peaceful, more secure, more prosperous, and stronger society. The way to achieve this is by strengthening national solidarity, developing a sense of common citizenship, and further solidifying the bonds of brotherhood.

It should not be forgotten that terrorist organizations are neutralized not only by fighting them with weapons but also by eliminating the environment of despair, division, and mistrust that feeds them. Therefore, justice, meritocracy, equal opportunity, democratic participation, and the rule of law are the indispensable pillars of social cohesion. A strong state and a strong society are not alternatives but complements to each other.

What needs to be done today is to strengthen the will to build the future together, without forgetting the pains of the past. While honoring the sacred memory of our martyrs, our greatest responsibility is to leave a Turkey where peace prevails for our children, not conflict.

A Turkey without terrorism is not just a country where weapons fall silent. A Turkey without terrorism is a Turkey where young people look to the future with hope, families live in security, investment increases, production strengthens, democracy deepens, and brotherhood is felt in every aspect of life.

I believe that Turkey, with the strength drawn from its history, the support from its nation, and its state experience, possesses the will to achieve this goal. For this, we need to enhance our collective wisdom, strengthen solidarity rather than polarization, and establish a unifying tone rather than divisive language.

Because the greatest success of the 'Century of Turkey' is not just having a strong economy or advanced technology, but becoming a great nation that lives in security, trusts each other, and walks towards its common future with hope.

In conclusion, a Turkey without terrorism is our shared desire. The path to achieving this goal lies not only in security measures but also in justice, brotherhood, national solidarity, and social cohesion. The determination of our state, the insight of our nation, and our faith in a common future are the most solid guarantees that will carry Turkey to stronger tomorrows.

May God preserve the unity of our nation, the survival of our state, and the peace of our country.
