Farmers who sold their products directly to the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) have protested thousands of lira in storage fee deductions from their accounts, despite their products not being stored.
Protests Against Storage Fee Deductions by Producers
Producers delivering products to the Turkish Grain Board (TMO) are protesting the storage fee deductions reflected in their accounts. Producers, stating they sold their products directly on the same day, are voicing their grievances.
Producer farmers who questioned the situation expressed their reactions with the following words:
"The product did not wait in storage, why was a fee deducted?"
Producers stated that the storage cost of the sold crop should not be reflected to the farmer, and that the collected amounts reduce their net income.
Deductions Made at Different Amounts Announced
According to information provided by producers, 19,000 lira was deducted from a producer who sold 32 tons of wheat to TMO at 14,750 lira per ton.
A wheat producer who objected to the deduction shared their reaction:
"I brought my goods to sell, not to put in storage."
Other producers stated that deductions ranging from 3,000 to 6,000 lira per vehicle were applied.
