Susurluk Sugar Factory Launches 72nd Production Campaign

Susurluk Sugar Factory officially opened its 72nd procurement campaign, targeting the processing of 695,000 tons of sugar beet and the production of 85,000 tons of sugar during the 2026-2027 period.

Susurluk Sugar Factory, operating under Turkish Sugar Factories Inc. (TÜRKŞEKER), officially launched its 72nd beet procurement campaign for the 2026-2027 period on October 2, 2026. Speaking at the ceremony held at the factory grounds, Susurluk Sugar Factory Manager Yavuz Karaduman described the campaign period with the following words:

Karaduman, who also defined the period as a 'festival of unity, labor, and sweat,' concluded his speech by presenting gifts from protocol members to the first five producers who delivered beets to the factory.

According to TÜRKŞEKER data, the new campaign period aims to process a total of 695,000 tons of sugar beet. This processing volume is planned to result in the production of approximately 85,000 tons of sugar, 32,000 tons of molasses, and 200,000 tons of wet beet pulp. Sugar-İş Union Susurluk Branch Chairman Yavuz Gürsoy and Beet Growers' Cooperative Chairman Hasan Karahasanoğlu wished for the procurement period to bring prosperity to the region's producers and highlighted the process's importance for the agricultural industry.

Speaking at the ceremony, TÜRKŞEKER Chairman of the Board and General Manager Dr. Muhiddin Şahin conveyed the company's industrial and efficiency goals with these words:

Şahin also emphasized, 'The value of sugar begins in the field but is completed with the trust of our customer.' With the newly commissioned Big-Bag Packaging Facility, 30,000 tons of the 85,000 tons of sugar will be packaged in one-ton bags; the new Slag Screening Facility will provide energy savings and recovery at the plant.
