· Tarım Pusulası

Marmarabirlik announced it will purchase 64,000 tons of olives in the 2026/2027 season, following a record harvest declaration of 105,000 tons. The cooperative expanded its grading scale and prepared a support package for members affected by hail damage in Erdek.
Targeting 64,000 Tons in Purchases
Marmarabirlik has finalized its olive purchase organization for the 2026/2027 business year, aiming to process producers' crops. The cooperative targets purchasing approximately 64,000 tons of olives in the new season. Marmarabirlik Chairman Ali Yıldız emphasized that producers are the cooperative's core reason for existence and that the purchase process will be conducted without disadvantaging its members. Yıldız stated that all decisions would consider the future of olive cultivation and the labor of producers, and that cooperatives would set their own purchase schedules based on climate conditions and olive ripening.

Record Harvest Declaration and Grading Scale
The olive harvest for table and oil consumption in Turkey is projected to be around 4.3 million tons for the 2026/2027 season, with Marmarabirlik's operational region expected to yield 430,000 tons. According to Marmarabirlik data, a record 105,000 tons of harvest declaration has been collected. Ali Yıldız announced that olives ranging from 39 to 41 count per kilogram would be included in the purchases due to a high volume of smaller-sized olives. Yıldız noted that while other regions do not purchase olives below a 26 count, Marmarabirlik, with its cooperative responsibility, will purchase up to a 41 count, ensuring efficient use of storage capacity.

Support Package for Hail-Affected Members
Marmarabirlik has announced a comprehensive support decision for olive producers in the Erdek Cooperative Region who were negatively impacted by hail. Under this decision, loan payments for producer members whose crops were damaged by hail will be deferred. The cooperative's management will also provide a price difference support for olives that lost their table quality due to damage and had to be designated for oil production, aiming to protect producers. These financial measures are intended to reduce the economic losses of disaster-affected farmers and ensure the uninterrupted continuation of production.
