TMO Inspects Hazelnut Purchase Process On-Site in Düzce

Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi (TMO) General Manager Ahmet Güldal visited the Düzce Meksa Purchase Center to examine hazelnut purchasing processes and yield measurements in the field.

Toprak Mahsulleri Ofisi (TMO) Chairman of the Board and General Manager Ahmet Güldal visited the Düzce Meksa Purchase Center and met with hazelnut producers. The delegation included Düzce Deputy Ercan Öztürk, Düzce Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Esra Uzun, and AK Party Düzce Provincial Chairman Hasan Şengüloğlu. Güldal, who inspected the purchasing activities carried out by the institution on-site, gained direct information from the field about the center's operations by listening to producers' delivery experiences and their evaluations of the purchasing policies implemented by the institution.

Yield Determination and Product Price

During the visit, the technical analysis results of the product delivered by producer Ömer Faruk Beyaz were examined. According to TMO data, the hazelnuts brought by the producer were evaluated based on a 50% yield, and a purchase price of 250 Turkish Lira per kilogram was applied. TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal announced that the payments for deliveries to producers are planned to be transferred to their bank accounts between the 21st and 27th of the month. During the evaluation, TMO General Manager Ahmet Güldal addressed the producer:

Producer Experience in the Purchase Process

Hazelnut Producer Ömer Faruk Beyaz, who completed his appointment-based delivery, made statements regarding the claims made before coming to the center:

'Since this is my first time here, I was very impressed, my manager. On social media, they were saying that the yield measured here didn't match that of merchants. I know my own hazelnuts, and I was very pleased with the yield. 50% yield.'

Referring to the social media posts, Hazelnut Producer Ömer Faruk Beyaz shared his reservations:

'We felt a fear from what was being said there. Since we had no connection with any friends, we didn't know the truth until we came. Now we've come and seen it.'

Hazelnut Producer Ömer Faruk Beyaz concluded his remarks, stating his satisfaction with the service at the purchase center:

'Exactly. Everything went smoothly.'
