TMO Launches Grain Sales, Introduces Feed Barley
· TMO

The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) has opened its grain stocks for the 2026/27 season and initiated barley supply to meet the raw material needs of the feed sector.
The Turkish Grain Board (TMO) announced on September 11, 2026, that it has begun supplying products from its stocks for the 2026/27 sales season. According to the institution's statement, high levels of wheat and barley production were reached in 2026, and the procurement process is nearing its end. To maintain market balance, TMO has initially offered low-quality wheat for sale through the Turkish Commodity Exchange (TÜRİB). It was reported that the scope of sales will be expanded in the coming days, with products from the institution's own warehouses also being released to the market.

According to TMO data, the corn harvest, which began in mid-August, had reached approximately 20% nationwide as of September 11, 2026. The institution noted that a corn purchase price was not announced during this period because free market prices were favorable to producers. It was stated that with the harvest nearing completion in the Mediterranean Region and the Central Anatolia Region coming online, corn supply to the market would increase significantly. The statement emphasized that measures would be taken to ensure supply security against the tendency to postpone product supply with expectations of price increases.
According to the institution's announcement, barley sales are being initiated to alleviate the temporary supply contraction caused by the regional transition in corn harvest. It was stated that barley from TMO stocks would be made available for use by relevant sectors, especially livestock breeders and producers. This step aims to meet the demand for feed raw materials with alternative products and reduce the demand pressure on the corn market. TMO announced that there are no issues regarding grain supply across Turkey.
