The first harvest under the Maralfalfa Production Project, initiated to diversify alternative crops and meet the roughage needs of livestock operations in Sinop, has been successfully completed. The harvest event, held at the demonstration field established in Dibekli Village with financial support from the Sinop Provincial General Assembly Presidency, was attended by Provincial Director of Agriculture and Forestry Murat Genc. Officials stated that this is an innovative production model being implemented for the first time in the province. Officials, who inspected the work at the project site with technical personnel, emphasized the importance of new forage crops for regional agriculture.

According to data from the Sinop Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, while traditional silage corn production yields an average of 5-6 tons per decare, the Maralfalfa demonstration is projected to yield approximately 30 tons per decare. Provincial Director Murat Genc stated that this plant, with its high yield potential, will significantly reduce the roughage costs for livestock operations. The project aims to increase the income levels of local producers and close the roughage deficit. The Provincial Directorate thanked the Provincial General Assembly for their support and wished the initiative to be beneficial for all producers.
