Applications have opened for the 'Let There Be a Herd' project, launched by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry; producers will be allocated up to 48 pregnant beef cattle.
Application Process and Project Timeline
The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has launched the 'Let There Be a Herd' project with the aim of strengthening rural development and increasing the volume of domestic red meat production. It has been announced that applications have officially opened within the framework of the support program covering producers nationwide. The Bartın Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, publishing detailed information regarding the process, announced the application steps for producers with the following statements:

'Within the scope of the support program implemented by our Ministry under the name 'Let There Be a Herd,' applications have started to be accepted as of November 4. Our producers must personally apply to their registered Provincial or District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry by the end of working hours on November 13.'
Due to the limited time, breeders are asked to submit their documents completely.
Allocation Conditions and Collateral Amounts
The support model prepared by the Ministry has been structured to spread the base of beef breed breeding stock. Each basic package to be allocated within the scope of the project consists of 15 high-value pregnant beef breed female cattle and 1 breeding male animal. Producers can request a maximum of 3 packages, meaning up to 48 heads, from these packages, which consist of a total of 16 animals, depending on their business capacity. As per financial security criteria, the Ministry collects a collateral amount of 3,000 TL per animal from the applying breeders. Thus, a breeder receiving a single package is obliged to fulfill the collateral liability of 48,000 TL at the time of application.

Business Capacity and Priority Criteria
Specific legal and technical criteria have been determined for breeders applying for the support program. Applicants must be citizens of the Republic of Turkey who have completed 18 years of age and have an uninterruptedly registered business in their name in the TÜRKVET registration system for at least 1 year. Furthermore, a fundamental condition is that the capacity of existing facilities must not exceed a maximum of 200 heads. A scoring system will be implemented during the evaluation phase; female farmers, young producers, businesses in the earthquake-affected region, facilities located in fattening zones, family businesses, and individuals with agricultural vocational training certificates will gain an advantage in the ranking with additional points.
Objection Reviews and Final Results
Following the end of the official application procedures on November 13, the evaluation commission will commence its work, and the prepared draft lists will be posted for public display. According to the timeline set by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry, the lists of beneficiaries will remain on display between November 18-19, and objection applications from beneficiaries will be accepted during these dates. Upon completion of the final review process by the commission, the finalized primary and reserve producer lists will be announced on November 30 through the Provincial and District Directorates of Agriculture and Forestry. Following the finalization of the lists, the delivery schedule for the breeding animals will commence.
