Quarantine and Vaccination Mandated for Unidentified Livestock Transport

The Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has enacted a new regulation mandating that unidentified animals caught during transport be immediately quarantined and vaccinated.

A new regulation prepared by the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry has been published in the Official Gazette and entered into force. According to the regulation, unidentified cattle, sheep, and goat species caught during transport will be directly taken into quarantine. The scheduled vaccinations of these animals, which will be dispatched to the destination farm declared by the owner, will be completed by the Ministry during the quarantine process.

Unidentified animals brought to slaughterhouses or livestock markets will be immediately slaughtered, at the owner's expense, if approved by the official veterinarian. Animals found unsuitable for slaughter will be promptly dispatched to quarantine without delay.
