Epidemic Risk and Yield Losses

The vaccination campaign being conducted in the region aims to halt the spread of contagious animal diseases and completely prevent potential epidemic outbreaks. Foot-and-mouth disease, a serious threat to livestock operations, directly reduces meat and milk yields while causing irreparable economic losses in reproductive yields. Institution officials note that their primary goal is to prevent yield losses that producers may experience through protective health screenings conducted in the field and to maintain herd health standards at the highest level.

Calf Tagging and Support Process

The identification of newborn calves constitutes another critical aspect of the field program. According to data from the Rize Provincial Directorate of Agriculture and Forestry, over 6,500 calves have been tagged and included in the national registration system across the province. These official registration procedures, which ensure effective monitoring of the animal population, are vital for farmers to fully benefit from the livestock support provided by the state. Health screening and registration efforts by the teams continue uninterruptedly in all farms across the province.
